Getting Around Mallorca By Car
 

It is approximately 125kms from one end of Mallorca to the next and it takes about 2 hours to drive from the east to west. Mallorca has a good network of major roads connecting its towns and villages and the conditions of the roads are good. A three pronged motorway system connects it's capital Palma de Mallorca with the west, northwest and south east of the island.

There is a good network of main roads covering the whole island. There is a three pronged motorway system connecting the capital city, Palma, to the West, South East and North West.

Must be worn on front seats at all times.

Drinking and Driving
The limit is 80mg of alcohol per 100ml of breath

Fuel
Gas is available in different grades - Super plus (98 octane), Super (96 octane), unleaded (Super sin plomo), Mezcla or Normal (90 octane) and gasoleo or gasoil (diesel).

Gas stations are normally open between 6AM and 10PM and are occasionally closed Sundays. Larger stations around larger cities are open 24 hours and may be self service.  Most stations accept credit cards.

Before embarking on a journey, you should be aware that gas stations are few and far between in the mountain areas. So be sure to be adequately fueled before departing from your destination. Should you require road assistance, you may call Real Automobile Club de Espana (RACE) Tel: 915 933 333.
