Existing on the fringe of the lush and wooded foothills of the Tramuntana mountains, the village of Campanet retains the traditional charm and priceless serenity of Mallorca´s inland villages. Campanet's main claim to fame are the limestone caves which are home to powdery white stalactites and a crystal clear subterranean lake. On Thursday mornings, the nearby town of Inca hosts the largest open market on Mallorca, selling everything from carved African figures and leatherware to embroidered tablecloths and ceramics.

Picturesquely surrounded by holm oak and pine forests, Campanet has conserved itself as a peaceful backwater virtually untouched by commercialism.
