Poble Espanyol

Poble Espanyol, or Spanish Village in English, lies on the outskirts of Palma. Poble Espanyol on Mallorca is a showcase of iconic Spanish architecture, a collection of houses, churches, palaces, fortresses and monuments featuring architectural details from the Spanish regions of Cordoba, Toledo and Madrid.

Throughout history, Spain's proximity to Arabic North Africa, and its ties to the Moors, has greatly influenced its architecture and culture. The merging of Islamic and Gothic influences within Spain has given birth to some very interesting and unique architecture, all of which is covered during your tour of Poble Espanyol de Mallorca.

The narrow streets and cosy squares within the village are teeming with souvenir shops where artisans sell their forged iron and sculpted wood wares. Should you get tired or feel hungry, you should stop at one of the outdoor cafes serving local Spanish treats. If you happen to be there in the Summer, you might be pleased to know that bullfights are held in its corrida on Sundays.
